(photos coming soon)
The Columbus Crush completed a series of basketball clinics for the young people of Cambridge and Guernsey county this weekend. The clinics began July 6th and lasted until August 7th. Young players got an opportunity to meet and be coached by the area's new minor league basketball team. The workouts focused on conditioning and fundamentals; allowing some youngsters to get a head start on their upcoming basketball season training.
The clinics were free of charge for young people and were a great opportunty for the team according to Crush GM David Moore
"This series provided us with a great opportunity to bring something positive to the community. We are exremely thankful to the Cambridge Family YMCA for hosting us; we also have to thank the Daily Jeffersonian and WILE radio for their support. The folks at the Comfort Inn and Fresh Value Foods are always great to us and are upstanding leaders in the community. But is is the people of Cambridge and Guernsey County that we want to thank the most. We have been very well received in the community and this gives us a great outlook for a successful season. We are most thankful to the new leaders of our booster club in town - Kevin Newsom, Carol, and Ashley Dalton. We want to thank everyone for their support and the warm reception we've received so far.
UP NEXT FOR THE TEAM AND THE Midwest Opportunity Group
"It's back to school time and we'll be involved to help the young people be successful in the next chapter of their education.
We will be appearing at the request of Nancy Gress and Guernsey County Childrens Service at the "Back to School Supplies Event" @ the
Stop Nine Community Center in Byesville Wednesday August 11th in Byesville, Ohio. For more information call Nancy Gress with Guernsey County Childrens Service 740-439-5555
