The M.O.G is a community development corporation. 

We are registered with the IRS as a 501(c)3 charitable organization.  We are registered with the Ohio Secretary of State as a nonprofit organization; and with the Ohio Attorney General as a licensed fundraiser. 

Our mission is to empower our constituents to strengthen their local social institutions.

We view our mission as a long-term project - hence our focus on the development of young leadership.

Our vision is of a well stocked pool of young leaders.  We aim our efforts to help young people meet educational, career, and personal goals. 

PURPOSE

Our purpose is to serve as a platform and a catalyst for community development.  We support the efforts of young people to lead safe, healthy lifestyles;  we promote education and civic participation.  We encourage young people to be leaders in their communities.

WHAT WE DO

The Midwest Opportunity Group has partnered with youth serving schools and agencies Jane Addams Business Careers Center (Cleveland, Oh); Walnut Ridge High School (Columbus, Ohio) Reynoldsburg High  School; and New Covenant Believers Church to select and support future leaders in our community.  We wil be selecting 3 students from each graduating class and supporting their efforts towards leadership.  The class of 2011 will reflect our commitment to young people in the Cambridge, Ohio and Guernesy County area.

Education is a tool for social advancement.  MOG is looking for the brightest stars and most determined young people.  We will be supporting their postsecondary efforts through preparation assistance and financial support once they reach the college, university, or trade school of their choice.
